Organic Milk

3 Reasons why you should try Organic Milk

Health, home, LifeMeganComment

1. It actually tastes BETTER!

Call me crazy but I can taste the difference. I urge all of you to try it if you haven't already! Can't you taste the difference?

2. It Lasts Longer! (counterintuitive, I know)

Maybe this is a bad sign...but the organic milk keeps longer than the processed and hormone filled options. If you're like me and you don't drink milk every day, you end up throwing out a lot of it when it goes bad. I'm really skeptical of milk already, if it is the day before it goes bad, I'm already less inclined to drink anymore of it so this is a great benefit in my opinion. I don't feel like I'm wasting money by buying the more expensive milk if I know that I will be able to finish it.

3. It's better for the Cows and maybe for you!

Anything that makes the cows happier makes me happier! Cows that produce organic milk are required to have 4 months per year to graze in the pasture.

There has been a lot of controversy over the health benefits of organic milk compared to non organic. Recently though, a study found that drinking organic milk can help balance your omega-3 and omega-6 ratio. Which basically means, you'll reduce your risk of cardiovascular disease, cancer, depression, Alzheimer's, rheumatoid arthritis and diabetes! (see more on this here

Fun Facts About Milk and Cows

Women between the ages of 19 and 50 need 1000mg of calcium each day, or 3, 8oz glasses of milk!

In order to absorb the calcium you need, your body requires vitamin D, also found in milk!

There are about 11 million cows in America. They will make about 57.5 billion quarts of milk this year.

An average dairy cow weighs about 1,400 pounds

Have you tried organic milk? What are your thoughts and opinions on organic food, is it really better?
