DIY Honey Scalp Exfoliator

Beauty, DIY, try this, hair, ReviewMegan2 Comments

I'll admit, sometimes I go entirely too long without washing my hair. Sounds gross, whatever, I have dry hair people! Plus, who has time to wash and dry their hair all the time? Not this girl.

Unfortunately, the buildup from products paired with my sensitive scalp leave some questionable results by the end of my washing cycle. So, sometimes I really need to exfoliate my scalp but I need something that is gentle.

I've seen some products on the market that are made specifically to exfoliate the scalp but I'm feeling cheap so I researched my own homemade recipes to try. See below for the easy instructions on how to make your very own!

3 Simple Ingredients:

Honey

Olive Oil

Sugar

How To:

Mix 1 tbsp honey, 1.5 tbsp olive oil and 3 tbsp sugar together in a small bowl. Apply the mixture directly to your scalp and gently massage in a circular motion.

This mixture is a little dry so it's difficult to spread around. I found the easiest application technique is to take about a half tablespoon of the mixture and apply in sections to the scalp. Once applied, shampoo until all remnants of the mixture are dissolved. (I rinsed and added more shampoo several times). Then, condition hair as usual.

Results:

I can 100% recommend this exfoliator! It has worked amazingly well on my hair/scalp. Not only did this remove all build up and smooth out my scalp, but it made my hair so soft and shiny! It felt so clean and refreshed! Plus, you probably already have all of these ingredients in your kitchen right now. Double Bonus: Try this on your body as well for some smooth and sexy limbs!

Have you tried a scalp exfoliator? Am I the only weirdo not washing their hair several times per week? Meh, oh well! I hope you all had a fabulous long weekend!
